Although Nokia’s business is global, we strive to act locally. In Silicon Valley, Nokia’s business units are well represented from services to devices. Additionally, Forum Nokia – Nokia’s organization dedicated to the support of third party developers – is headquartered in Mountain View. Nokia Research Center, with six labs in eleven locations around the world, calls Palo Alto its home.
This site intends to bring Nokia locally to you, the media, social media and industry leaders.
Our local executives as well as Nokia executives around the world will contribute to bringing Nokia’s business to you with relevance for the Silicon Valley consumer, developer and high tech worker.
As VP of Forum Nokia, Purnima is responsible for strategy and growth opportunities with Nokia’s third party developers to create a vibrant Nokia ecosystem. She joined Nokia in 2003 as Senior Product Manager for Multimedia Solutions in Nokia mobile phones, with previous roles as Director, Strategy and Business Development for Enterprise Solutions and Director, Market Readiness for Consumer Messaging before taking on her current role. At Nokia, Purnima has been recognized for her contributions to the mobile messaging business.

Nokia Research Center drives breakthroughs that reach far into the future, enabling new business opportunities for Nokia. As Head of Nokia Research Center, Henry is responsible for labs worldwide that pursue disruptive innovation. NRC works closely with all Nokia operating units and promotes open innovation, working on research projects in collaboration with leading universities and research institutes around the world.

Atif Hussein is a veteran in the mobile communications industry with nearly 20 years experience and currently serves as Vice President, Connect Products organization. Hussein is responsible for development and integration of mobile messaging, IM and social networks across all ranges of devices within the Consumer Messaging service line. As the driving force of Nokia’s transition to a Messaging services platform he is a key architect.
